Gerjon Kalaci – Advisor
Mr. Kalaci is currently an advisor to the chambers, however, his legal experience has been in immigration and corporate commercial law. He is currently in-house counsel at Alexa Translations.
Mr. Kalaci has dealt with immigration matters for both corporations and individuals including work permits, study permits, federal skilled worker applications, provincial nominee applications and NAFTA applications. Mr. Kalaci’s corporate experience extends to both the for-profit and not-for-profit sector, including acquisitions and sales, corporate governance matters, financing transactions and contract negotiations.
Furthermore, Mr. Kalaci has over ten years of experience as an entrepreneur which has assisted him in better understanding the legal needs and challenges that businesses face.
Mr. Kalaci is also highly involved in the community and has sat on the Board of Directors of United Way, University of Windsor Board of Governors and is the founder of the Golden Future Project. In 2009 Mr. Kalaci was recognized by the Federal Government as the first ever recipient of the Thérèse Casgrain Volunteer Award in the youth category for outstanding contribution to the community. In 2012 he also became the recipient of the Rising Star Award, given out by Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce, the business excellence award in the under 30 category from the Toronto Board of Trade and the Odyssey Award given by the University of Windsor Alumni Association.
